Collapsible Bikes: Fun or Folly?

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of a collapsible bicycle are those goofy looking travel bikes with tiny wheels. And then I saw this:

Folding Bicycle
Sure it’s only a concept, but wow! It looks good. Could it really be safe? Look at how the wheels fold:

Collapsing Wheel
If nothing else, it’s a definite good start. I’ve been waiting to see bicycle production go in new directions. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t look like it’d be too easy to take apart. .
Would you ride a collapsible bicycle? Let us know in the comments!

I’ve been drooling over a few online but probably won’t get one anytime soon. I would want one if I needed to take the train to work but I right now I drive. I have seen quite a few Strida’s lately and surprise surprise they’re all going to the train.
I hadn’t ever seen the Strida. They look very cool! One of my biggest issues with most folding bikes is poor mechanics. It’s very hard to get much output when they’re set up so goofy.
The Stridas don’t look too bad though. I’d have to try one out first though. .
and Classy to boot
